After completing the soundscape journal it opened my ears to paying attention a little bit more to what is around me. Soundscape is a word I have never heard of other than this music class. Listening to the background of what is happening around me while I walk towards my car or while doing something simple as taking a walk towards my car after school. I usually always have headphones plugged in and not listening to the outside world. So instead of plugging my headphones into my ears doing this activity was a little difficult but not impossible. – Cassey B.

I like the way you show your idea but you can be more detailed. Why do you never heard the meaning of a soundscape? what types of sounds you missed when you put your headphones? What other places do you think you never pay attention to the soundscape?
Explain the different sounds you heard after you take off your headphones and why it was difficult about this activity. I hope these questions will help you to go deeper in your reflection.

I must say earphones are a liability because it eliminates what you should really be listening to. I’ve never came across the word “soundscape” either, if it wasn’t for this music class I probably would not know that word exist. I am happy you are paying more attention to the sounds around you too!

I liked how you started the paragraph, but I think what you could to make it even better is that first, you can write what soundscape means instead of referring it to hearing about it in class. Second, I think that you should write more about the types of sounds you heard and explain them. you can also tell about the sounds which you were missing out on whenever you used your headphones. Lastly, you can also give some description on how this activity was challenging for you, what things you had to change or give up. I hope this feedback can help your writing become better than it already is.

Within the beginning of your paragraph, I understood the direction of your focus and interpretation. However the rest of your writing could have included a stronger and broader correlation of the impact that the assignment had. Your view point and appreciation used with your example got your point across, yet the vocabulary and context in how it was structured made this paragraph weaker. To conclude try to expand your writing with more examples and more information that can demonstrate and fully answer the question that was at hand.

I completely agree with you before this soundscape activity i never paid attention to my surroundings either, now i find myself listening closely to everything from the birds chirping to coins falling on the ground. However i think you can talk about your experience now like what you learn about your surroundings now? or what sounds that you hear now that you never heard before?
